APRIL 2012

The CD release is now behind me! It was a wonderful night despite the fact that the nerves and the emotions were running high. It felt a little like a rebirth on stage after my illness and it was fantastic to have such a warm crowd to share the evening with. The band played great and I think we did our best to honour the wonderful repertoire. It was also a privilege to have Jean Blaute there - I was blushing after his introduction - very kind words. We had great fun singing together at the end of the set. Here are a couple of snapshots of the evening - stay posted for some better pictures in the near future.

I have also done some press and reviews have started to come in for the CD.

For my friends and family down under here is the interview that I did with Phillipe Baron on Musiq3. You can take the girl out of Aus but you can’t take the Aus out of the girl! Enjoy!

FEBRUARY 2012

Life is well and truly back to ‘normal’ - meaning sometimes struggling to find time for myself - but I am relishing the activity.

I am very happy to announce that the new CD ‘Duke Ellington’s Sound Of Love’ will be officially launched on the 6th of April at the Rataplan in Antwerp. You can find more information about this on the gig page including a link for tickets. Our good friend Jean Blaute will join us on that evening to tell a few stories and hopefully join us for some music too!

It is great to be working with Red Cat Artists for promotion and concerts with the CD and we are hoping that the work they have been doing will continue to bear fruit as we move ahead with the release. December 2012 will bring a ‘Jazz Labs’ tour in Flanders which I am very much looking forward to!

It has been a while since I have managed to update the site but there are now plenty of new (and old!) things to look at. With the release of the new promo photo’s for the CD I got inspired to put a promo-shot retrospective album in my pic’s. There are also a couple of other things including band shots from the tour I did to China with Don Burrows in 1993... nearly 20 years ago!

JUNE 2011

It’s been a momentous journey but I have made it out the other side... as you can see there is a new look as well!

I am feeling strong and thankful that my body has been able to bounce back so quickly after all it has had to endure. I am also thankful for the fact that I was able to spend a part of my recuperation with my family in Australia - there’s nothing like family love to help the healing along. I also made a wonderful ‘stop’ in Ubud, Bali on my way home. This place is my absolute heaven on earth and perfect for replenishing the body, mind and spirit!

There is progress with the CD although I still have no exact information about release dates.

Stay posted!

FEBRUARY 2011

First of all, I wish everyone a wonderful 2011 full of creativity, magic moments, family and friends and, most importantly, good health.

For those waiting on the release of my new CD, it won’t be much longer!

My world was turned upside down 6 months ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and since then I have been operated on and undergone chemotherapy. My treatment isn’t over yet as I have yet to undergo a 6 week course of radiotherapy.

This period has thrown up many challenges and frustrations; learning to rest and allow my body to heal itself was one of the big ones. Needless to say, it will be some time before I am able to take everything up again and I am very much looking forward to that!.

In the meantime my beautiful new CD has been on the back burner but hopefully there will be some news on that very soon. Stay posted!
